In 2009 I took a picture of something broken every day.  I made the pictures into a book, which can be viewed here – http://community.shutterfly.com/gallery/post/start.sfly?postId=/gallery/1/post/GMGDNgxbtWjhg5bAVqkJSe&emid=pbgallcom&linkid=link7.  As 2011 begins I’m ready to start another daily photo project.  This time I plan to post a new photo every day on my blog.  My theme this year is “What People Need”.

I came about this theme in an interesting way.  My parents came to visit Aki and me during Christmas, and on their flight down my dad met and befriended a man who helps people invest their money.  His theme for the coming year is “What People Need.”  He told my dad that he has four focal points for how he thinks people should invest in 2011.  They are food, health, energy, and smart safe money.

A Christmas present from my dad was the book The Happiness Project.  The author did things to try to be happier for a year.  After looking closely at her monthly themes I thought they would also fit closely with my photo blog theme.  Below I’ve listed my subcategories for each month, fitting under the greater theme of “What People Need”.  The pictures I take might be of what people think they need or what I think I need myself.  You might not agree, of course.

They might fit the category perfectly, or you may have to think about them a little.  I hope you enjoy going on this photo journey with me.

We thought their trip might have to be cut short because my Grandma was in a car accident and not doing well, but then, thankfully, she starting very gradually improving.  They left on New Years Day.  Merry Christmas and Happy 2011!  By the way, it’s absolutely crazy that it’s already 2011.  May you find rest and peace in the new year.
